The Museum Of Dirt
Photography by Vinnie Piatek

Amongst the complications of the modern World, of the push and pull of forces internal and external to us, is a space...

In this space, Vinnie places his camera.

The Camera, as well as being a sanctuary, away from the push and pull, is a way for us to strip away the layers of complication and to simplify the World, to lay it bare; to immortalise a split second in time and to examine, critique, understand, to not understand and to admire.

Armed with only the simplest tools of photography – a 35mm SLR Camera and a bag load of film – Vinnie heads out onto the street, the most dynamic and unpredictable studio imaginable, and by living in the moment, aims to produce images that capture a sense of Place – of People and their Space – and to connect in some way with the viewer of his work, and to show in photographs, rather than words, through the lack of complications, how complicated the World can sometimes be.
